What is Kustom Kulture?
Kustom Kulture is a US neologism used to describe the artwork, the vehicles, the hairstyles, and the fashions of those who drove and built kustom cars and motorcycles in the United States of America from the 1950s through today. In the early days of Hot Rodding, many fashions and styles developed. Over time, each of these distinct styles of kustomizing have blended and reshaped our everyday life. Artists such as Von Dutch (Kenny Howard), kustom car builders such as "Big Daddy" Ed Roth, hot rod and lowrider kustomizers such as the Barris Brothers, along with numerous tattoo artists, automobile painters, and television shows such as Happy Days, have all helped to form what is known as Kustom Kulture

What is lowbrow art?
The term "lowbrow" has been used to identify the sources of inspiration for the art and as a way of asserting that lowbrow art is, in part, a critique of highbrow culture. Some museums, art critics, galleries, etc., have been uncertain as to the official status of lowbrow in relation to the fine art world. Some doubt that it's a "legitimate" art movement. This may be because many lowbrow artists began their careers in fields not normally considered fine art, such as illustration, tattooing and comic books, and/or do not have a university degree in fine art. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowbrow_%28art_movement%29
